At db hair and beauty we have been in the hair industry for over twenty years one of the things we commonly get asked is “Whats the Best Hair Straightener For My Hair”. Here’s a guide to buying Hair Straighteners for your particular hair type
Fine Hair
A standard size iron will work in most cases, pay attention when you have fine hair and applying heat always use a Thermal protection product prior to using any straighteners. Some straighteners will offer an adjustable temperature feature. This enables the hair to be straightened and styled at lower temperatures, but in our experience this is not always the case to achieve your desired look. Standard size plate hair iron is suitable for shoulder length medium hair go for a plate around 2cm wide. For longer hair (over shoulder), go for a wide plated iron about 4cm wide.
Thick Hair
A standard size iron will work comfortably you may find you need a high temperature so go for an iron that can warm up fast to higher than 180c. If your hair’s thick and longer than your shoulder, again go for a wider plate iron at least 4cm.
Curly Hair
For tight curly hair or thick tight curled hair we recommend a standard but use in conjunction with products that help to relax your hair. See below on straightening methods, products on the market include specially formulated hair curl control products that help to relax the hair cuticle making it more manageable and easier to straighten using irons. Over time your hair will become straighter.
